New Sports Performance Center and Pilates Reformer Studio

Henry Mayo Fitness and Health is expanding. In July, a new 3,000-square-foot sports performance center and Pilates Reformer studio will open at the Town Center Drive location.

The center will be a training location for athletes who wish to increase their performance level or who are rehabbing from injuries, and will also offer performance and mobility training for adults. Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Sports Performance Director Russell Gage will oversee the sports performance training programs at the center. Gage completed his undergraduate degree in applied exercise science from Azusa Pacific University and is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, and a National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist.

“I’m very excited to help open this new center and help area athletes reach their maximum potential,” Gage said.

Athletes who are undergoing physical therapy at Henry Mayo's physical therapy and sports rehabilitation clinic will be able to use the center. “We’ll have the space and equipment needed to get our patients back performing at a competitive level before they leave our care,” said John Adam, PT, Henry Mayo's Director of Rehabilitation Services.

In addition to sports performance training, there will be Pilates Reformer classes offered at the center. “Our members have been asking us to offer a Pilates training program,” said William Holstein, General Manager of Henry Mayo Fitness and Health. “There’s already a high level of anticipation for this new addition.”

“This is an extension of our commitment to helping all people in the Santa Clarita Valley enjoy good health and reach their highest potential,” added Jonathan Miller, Henry Mayo’s Vice President of Clinical Support and Facility Planning. IYH
